All staff are bound by strict rules of confidentiality. We are a computerised practice and registered under the Data Protection Act 1998. Your information may be shared with others in the following circumstances:

  • To provide further medical treatment for you, e.g. from district nurses and hospital services.
  • To help you obtain other services e.g. from social care – this requires your consent
  • When we have a duty to others e.g. in child protection cases
  • Anonymised patient information will also be used at local and national level to help plan services e.g. for diabetic care.

Patients may request copies of their medical records. An access form will need to be completed and these forms are available from reception. A fee is applicable.
